Sishu Griha has a culture of pedagogy that is over 40 years old. To us, it is an institution, one of the forebears in a system of education that is today widespread, founded on the Montessori method. This is just one reason why we chose to become a part of this glorious establishment.

There is so much more than just a system of schooling for children. There is an enviable sense of family, time-honoured values, and progressive thinking - all held together by a way that is special and unique.

Every child, and every parent of that child, is a part of this family. Because education is not just about the child. It's also about the child passing it on at home, and in society. This is what makes communities stronger, more balanced and versatile, no matter what the differences amongst people are. Ultimately, what's important is not just what the child learns, but how the child thinks. To problem solve, to know the self, to explore beyond usual limits, to be self-reliant, to be just in action, and to deal with life's everyday challenges with positivity.

This is Sishu Griha. Alongside, our endeavour is to enhance infrastructure and systems, while allowing the approach to education remain as beautiful as it has been for years, under the guidance and dedication of the principal, dean, and faculty - all tempered by the vision of its founding family.

Sujatha Mohandas - Mentor

One of our guiding philosophies at Sishu Griha has been that a school is a space where young lives are transformed and futures are actively shaped, beyond the transaction of curriculum. Countless interactions with students, educators, and families reiterate our belief that education is both an opportunity for personal growth and a commitment to society at large.

The greatest feeling of fulfilment throughout this long journey has come from observing hesitant learners discover their potential, seeing teachers build strength of along side academic excellence, and honouring the deep trust that families place in the institution. It is this shared responsibility that defines the Sishu Griha Foundation - a vibrant ecosystem where dedicated educators, supportive parents, and visionary leadership work toward a unified purpose. It is their collective effort and reflective practice that have established a thriving school culture where every child feels valued and appreciated.

In the role of Mentor of Sishu Griha Foundation, I remain deeply committed to supporting the schools growth by fostering academic excellence, leadership development, and teacher empowerment. While educational practices evolve, the fundamental purpose remains unchanged.

Our deep gratitude is extended to the management, staff, parents, students, and alumni who have built this remarkable legacy. May the school always remain a place where innovation is embraced and where children are encouraged to become the very best version of themselves.

Vikram Krishnan - Chief Operating Officer

Sishu Griha has always been more than a school. It is a home away from home. Here a humane path to life matters as much as academic achievement, and our rich Indian heritage lives comfortably alongside modern technology. We began in 1978 as a humble home of learning in Indiranagar and grew into a pioneer of the Montessori pedagogy in Bangalore. Through it all we have held to a single conviction. We must follow the child.

Today the world is rapidly being transformed by artificial intelligence and by information that travels faster than ever. I believe this has made the purpose of a school clearer. Learning may now happen from anywhere, but a school is where a child learns to belong. It is where friendships mature into community and children discover how to work with and care for one another. In an age of screens and machines, our task is to protect and strengthen the human connection.

A school must also be a keeper of values. At Sishu Griha we strive to sustain the principles that will steady our children long after they leave us. We nurture them into thoughtful global citizens who carry their roots with pride wherever life may take them. Above all, we ensure that our children remain curious and confident, unafraid to ask, to wonder and to attempt.

This is what holistic education means to us. It is the shaping not merely of capable minds but of good human beings. This is the promise our school has kept for close to five decades.

Renu Varghese - Principal

At Sishu Griha, we have always believed that a truly meaningful education is grounded as much in character, integrity, and daily acts of kindness as it is in scholastic excellence. We do not just teach children; we seek to truly understand them.

What sets us apart is an intentional commitment to the individual. From a three-year-old’s first steps into our Montessori environment to the day our Grade 12 graduates venture into the world, we know each student by name, heart, and mind. Within our walls, emotional well- being is never an afterthought, it is nurtured in tandem with academic growth.

This level of care stems directly from our committed educators. Through their energy, empathy, and quiet devotion, they translate our core philosophy into a living reality every single day.

Our Montessori roots serve as the bedrock of this journey, inspiring children to explore independently and fall in love with learning. As they grow, this spirit of discovery is guided by thoughtful mentorship through high school, empowering students to find their unique voices in academics, the arts, sports, and community life.
This journey is a shared one, supported by an exceptionally involved parent community, a dedicated faculty, and an accomplished alumni network who serve as our school's unwavering pillars.

Ultimately, Sishu Griha students graduate with clarity of purpose, compassionate hearts, and the quiet confidence to walk a courageous path - leaving a meaningful imprint on the world.
