FIELD TRIP AND OUTINGS

The spirit of adventure is an innate quality in children. In today’s gadget-controlled lives, it has become vital to explore and tap this spirit within, from a young age. The school makes arrangements for a field trip every year because it believes in granting children a chance to gather wisdom beyond the confines of a classroom. With this goal in mind, Sishu Griha takes students on field trips to encourage the thrill of purposeful adventure and exploration. It is noteworthy that apart from such trips, Sishu Griha also takes interest in planning star gazing activities whenever possible, here students learn to marvel at the sky. There have also been educational visits to villages to interact with villagers and government school students. The students are involved in health camps along with an NGO and help in spreading the message of hygiene and good sanitation habits. Such visits sensitise them to the difficulties of the less privileged.
Apart from the delight of being outdoors, students learn the value of physical activities, time management, interaction with peers, self-responsibility, looking after juniors and sharpening their communication skills. Sishu Griha takes pride in fostering such a spirit of adventure combined with responsibility and hopes to engage the students in similar meaningful activities in the future.

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

Assessment is a very important tool with which the child, the parents and the school can track academic progress. Three unit tests and two examinations are conducted during the year. The Detailed Assessment programme in the Middle School for English, Math and Science is conducted and a project is assigned in every subject. Non-academic aspects such as work habits and classroom behaviour are also assessed and form a part of the Continuous Internal Assessment. All forms of assessment at Sishu Griha are conducted in a non-threatening, non-competitive environment. Hence, the only person a child competes with, is himself or herself.

NATIONAL LEVEL COMPETITIVE EXAMS

The following are the optional national level competitive exams that children can avail of:
Asset Aptitude Tests | Math Olympiad | Science Olympiad | Cyber Olympiad | French Olympiad | English Olympiad

These programmes also go a long way in including the parents and involving them in their child’s development. They are made aware of the various activities that the school has planned for the overall development of their child, thereby, bridging further, the gap between the school and the parents.
